I am taking the opportunity to celebrate my 50th Birthday with this concert of Tabla and Indian Music featuring World Renowned Tabla Maestro Ojas Adhia and Manas Kumar, one of India's up-and-coming Violin Maestros. I will also be performing on the Tabla accompanied by Siddhesh Bilchonkar.

About the Artists:

Ojas Adhia

Ojas, a child prodigy in Music born in Chikhli, Maharashtra State. Ojas at the age of 5 was sent through Shri Kalyanji bhai to one of his close family friend Shri Mridangraj ji, for Ojas to learn traditional niceties of table playing including accompaniments, thus Ojas became the Gandaa Bandh Shaagird-Disciple of Shri Mridangraj ji at the age of 2.

Ojas is fortunate to be heard by the living legends Pandit Shiv Kumar Sharma ji, the Santoor Maestro and Pandit Hari Prasad Chaurasia ji, the Flute Maestro, and was also fortunate to play with them. More so, he is also fortunate in accompanying the living legends in Classical and Ghazals viz. Begum Parween Sultana ji, Ustad Rashid Khan Saheb , Pandit Satish Vyas ji, Ustad Rais Khan Saheb, Ustad Shujaat Khan Saheb, Dr. N. Rajan ji , Pandit Bhudhaditya Mukherjee ji, Anoushka Shankar, Kaushiki Chakraborty, Ustad Shahid Parvez, Purbayan Chatterjee, Asha Bhosle ji, Pandit Channulal Mishra ji , Pandit Ajay Pohankar ji, Ustad Hussain Baksh from Pakistan , Shri Hari Haran ji , Shri Pankaj Udhas ji , Shri Anup Jalota ji , Shri Talat Aziz ji , World famous percussionists Vikkuvinayakram ji, Trilok Grutu ji, Sivamani ji, Selva Ganesh ji and many others.

Manas Kumar

One amongst the stellar league of violin virtuosos in India, Manas Kumar’s recitals has received acclaim from stalwarts, senior exponents, connoisseurs and music lovers alike. His music represents a rich blend of niche repertoire, delicate emotive and command over melodic and rhythmic aspects.

Initiated to music at the age of five under the tutelage of his father Shri. G. Chamua, Manas Kumar is one of India’s top-notch violinists today. Apart from graduating in Physics and obtaining a Master’s degree in Music from the Bhatkhande University, Lucknow, Manas has honed his natural skill of playing the violin to near perfection through relentless riyaz and dedication. He has won the hearts of innumerable music lovers with his concert performances. He is a multi- faceted musician and his dynamic capability on the violin has earned him international recognition.

Jorge Ramiro

Originally from Mexico City, Jorge is a disciple of Pandit Samir Chatterjee, one of India's most influential tabla players, has been studying tabla and classical Indian music since the age of 12.

He has had the privilege of accompanying many of the great Artist of Indian Music such as Pt. Ramesh Misra, Saskia Rao, George Brooks, Utsav Lal, Pt. Samir Chatterjee, Manas Kumar, Ojas Adhia amongst others.

He has a Bachelors in Music from State University of New York and has performed in classical Indian music concerts in India, the United States, Mexico, France, Australia and Hong Kong.

Siddesh Bicholkar

Having imbibed primary lessons in music since childhood, Siddhesh received guidance from Sharad Mathkar in Goa. The difficult and lesser-known art of jaltarang playing was taken up by Siddhesh with inspiration from Sharad Mathkar, who personally crafted his first set of jaltarang (a percussive-melodic instrument having a series of ceramic containers filled with different levels of water to give different pitches when struck with sticks).

Siddhesh was later placed under the tutelage of Tulsidas Borkar, renowned harmonium exponent and guru. He gained valuable knowledge about instrumental recitals and classical music from Tulsidas Borkar, which enabled him to present jaltarang recitals, a very rare occurrence in Indian classical music today.

Siddhesh has been the recipient of many scholarships from the Government of India among others. He is presently employed as a classical music teacher at Sharda Sangeet Vidyalaya, Mumbai.
